UPDATE! PLEASE READ: No True 24p Processing In New Bravia D3000 Series:

Sony will introduce in June 2007 the new Bravia D3000 Series LCD Television in Europe.
For the first time it will feature:
- Sony 100Hz Motion Flow
- 10bit Panel Driver
- True 24p image processing
- Three HDMI inputs (one on the left side, ideal for HDV etc. camcorders input!)
I had the chance for a first hands-on impression. The new Bravia D3000 looks similia to Sony’s X series TVs but without that glass frame. It features 1366×768 screen resolution, no Full HD. The image quality is more than impressive. Other manufactures will be blown away by this performance. There is no more motion blur because of the 100Hz, it can handle all 24 frames per second image processing from Blu-Ray or HD-DVD players and shows no more 2:3 Pull Down bucking. Motion is flawless from the next generation discs. The 10bit panel driver shows superior colors, 1024 steps of grey tones, wider color spectrum and marvellous skin tones. The contrast ratio is handled dynamically and on the same level as seen on the best Plasma TVs.
40″ D3000 compared to X series in the same dimension, the D3000 has the better color reproduction, contrast ratio, better motion flow, short and to the point: cinema-like picture.
Sony ships a full cinema color, contrast, backlight correction and gamma profile. Specialists from Sony Pictures have created this preset. I recommend to use this.
46″ D3000 compared to X series in the same dimension turned out a different picture, the full HD resolution panel on the X series seems to create a substantially sharper and “live-like” image, though other parameters (s.o.) where below the D3000 series level. I think full HD resolution is getting really interesting if you choose a TV above 40″.
If you can wait, wait for the X series update, which will be introduced these days by Sony. It features same credentials as the D3000 series but with a Full-HD panel in center!
Update: The X2550 Series will be introduced in Europe! They will be introduced to the market in Japan at 25th April. Have a look at:

It will be called X2550 and is introduced in Japan these days!
When will it introduced to europe/germany?
Maybe we will never see it in germany like the X2500 also called XBR3. These only appeared in jp and usa.
When do u think the new X Series will be released/announced/introduced for europe/germany??
thanks
Any reviews from Japan?
Sony, to-day, told me that the D 3000 and S 3,000 were 1920×1080p (full HD) version, which was probably wrong.
When will Sony create an updated Sony Bravia KDL-40W2000 full HD version?
Sony also told me that Sony Bravia D3000 would be marketed in England in June 2007 - just have to wait and see.
The D3000 would fit between the Sony Bravia KDL-40W2000 and the Sony Bravia KDL-40X2000 series if what I was told was correct..
But, I would prefer a full HD 40″ version to be marketed in England urgently.
Hi Barrington,
thank you for your message! As I am a “Sony Insider” I can tell you that the D and the S series are 100% NOT full HD PANELS. The D series can display 1080p and true 24p, 1080p would be slightly downscaled to 1366×768.
There are no plans for an updated W series at all.
The D series provide a much better experience than the W series, even they don’t have a Full HD panel.
So if you are a real enthusiast about picture quality, do have the “right pocket money” and own a HD capable reciever and a subscription to a HD pay TV channel, such like Premiere HD in Germany, the X series is the right one for you. Please wait for the updated version which will soon arrive in England as well as in Germany.
sonyfanboy,
Any idea if or when the D3000 model will be sold in Australia?
The only thing putting me off buying a 46″ LCD at the moment is that the motion blur on fast moving objects is very obvious, even on the latest screens here.
It would be good to see some 100HZ models appear, and I think the Sonys have the best picture quality.
thanks.
I’m trying to decide if I should buy a 40″ w or the new 40″ d series please help!!
If you wanted something NOW, I would get the d series becuase of the better colour generation, motion flow, and 24p playback. However, if it was me, I would wait until a new x series came out which would have 1080p and all of the above, and probable more!
Speaking of which, does anyone know when a new x series will come out for the UK.
pls explain this motion flow 100 hertz refers to the same type as in crt monitor being 100 hertz….
if that is the case ….does hooking a pc have any merit….
ive heard u can only connect to it at a 60 hertz setting ….and THEN using motion flow results in “micro stutters”
this is a VERY VERY big let down for ppl who want to utilize motion flow with a pc (anyone using this as a desktop pls give us ure thoughts)
In order to get rid of tt-Test off your screen when screen display is pressed using the remote.
Remove the batteries, from your remote and put them back again. this resets the remote to work normally.
